Tomorrow is Qualifying Deadline for Candidates

Posted 2/28/19

Where do your legislators stand on public education? If you are unhappy with your legislators' votes on education issues, you can do something about it!

Tomorrow is the deadline to qualify as a candidate for the Mississippi Legislature. You must sign qualifying papers in your party headquarters by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 1. Our children need you! Find qualifying guidelines here.

Legislators, this is your time to shine! It's time to show voters that you will stand with your teachers and teacher assistants and insist that they get a meaningful pay raise this year - and that you will stop the harmful diversion of public school dollars into unaccountable private schools.

Voters, please check in with your legislators and make sure that they are public education heroes who will:

Support a meaningful teacher/teacher assistant pay raise and oppose all vouchers.

It's time for our Legislature to make public schools - and public school teachers - a real priority.

Please call all of the legislators who represent your school district. Ask your friends and family to call, too. Be sure to forward our emails, share our Facebook posts, and retweet us on Twitter. Our children and our teachers are counting on us. And together, we've got this!
